Wharton hosts second annual People Analytics Conference to explore analytical approaches to people management

PHILADELPHIA, PA— The Wharton School will host the second People Analytics Conference (PAC) at the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia, on April 10th-11th, 2015. The conference explores topical issues in people analytics—a data-driven approach to managing people at work. Conference speakers – such as Lorenzo Canlas, head of talent analytics at LinkedIn, and Anne Milgram, former attorney general of New Jersey – will lead discussions on strategies and innovations for using analytics to drive and elevate people management.

The Wharton conference brings together people analytics professionals who strive to bring sophisticated analysis to bear on people-related issues, such as recruitment, performance evaluation, leadership development, and compensation. Dynamic conference sessions, as well as conversations with and amongst speakers and participants, will delve deep into pressing questions in the world of management, like "do managers matter?" and "why do managers feel incompetent?"

"This is really the only event of its kind in the field of people analytics," said Stephanie Landry, student chair of the conference. "It has prompted a unique community where the leading thinkers in the field can go to share ideas, challenges and cutting edge research. The conference brings these people together, in the same room, to engage in a dialogue that really progresses the field."

Last year's conference brought together more than 300 industry leaders, professionals, and academics in the field. Last year's conference featured Howie Roseman, General Manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Edith Cooper, Global Head of Human Capital Management at Goldman Sachs. Laszlo Bock, Senior Vice President of People Operations at Google, spoke last year about "the fundamental science of how people work," and will be returning to speak this year.

Daniel Pink, New York Times bestselling author of Drive, said about last year's conference: "This was one of the best conferences I've been to in a long while. The size was the ideal balance between scale and intimacy, the content was the perfect blend between theory and practice."

Alongside four keynote addresses from the leading thinkers in the field, attendees of this year’s two-day conference will experience rapid-fire case presentations, interactive panels and debates, a research paper competition, and a case competition.

The People Analytics Conference will be held at the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia, on Thursday and Friday 10-11 April 2015. For more information on the conference, please visit the PAC website at www.peopleanalyticsconference.com. Members of the public are invited to attend.
